This immediately affects me. I cannot quite be sure whether this Clown in the Dark looks friendly or scary, but perhaps it's a little of both. In any case it is very striking.
The fact that you didn't make it a strict contrast black and white image, adds to the effect, as this "dirt white" colour enhances the over all impression and adds depth to the image.
You have also added some structure to the clown face - like that of a grainy photograph or suchlike - and that is also like a subtile but powerful effect. The reason why I have only given you three stars for originality, though, is that monochrome compositions are fairly common. That doesn't change my over all opinion concerning the image in its full. Keep up the good work.
